Jiawen Chen,
Interdisciplinary Designer, PLA, LEED AP

Jiawen is a landscape architect and interdisciplinary designer who focuses on the intersection between the virtual and the real. With a background in landscape architecture and design engineering, she is deeply rooted in spatial experience and continuously explores the human-machine-environment triadic interactions through emerging technologies. Her work spans environmental design, experience design, and product strategy.

Over the past six years, she has served as an Associate Principal at TLS Landscape Architecture based in Berkeley, California, leading multiple public space and urban development projects worldwide. Later, she worked as a Product Manager at Alibaba Cloud, collaborating with organizations such as the International Olympic Committee to develop and design SaaS products focused on carbon emissions and sustainability. In addition, Jiawen has contributed as a design consultant to the development of various technology products. Her enthusiasm for human-machine-environment interaction is also reflected in her research papers, experimental projects, and teaching endeavors. She worked as a Teaching Assistant at Harvard University and UC Berkeley, and has been invited as a design critic at institutions such as the University of Nevada and Shanghai Jiaotong University.

Jiawen holds a Master's in Landscape Architecture from Harvard University and a B.A. in Design from Tongji University. She is currently pursuing a Master's degree in Design and a Graduate Certificate in New Media at UC Berkeley. She is a licensed landscape architect in California and a LEED AP.
