Problem Statement
Traveling to new places is exciting, but the physical and mental toll of jet lag can quickly overshadow the experience. Business travelers, in particular, are expected to perform at their best immediately upon arrival, yet shifting to a new time zone is rarely effortless. In another context, people living in high-latitude regions face prolonged periods of low light during winter, which can disrupt their circadian rhythms and contribute to seasonal depression. Although these challenges differ in form, they stem from the same source: the body’s internal clock—our circadian rhythm—deeply influenced by exposure to light.
How might we help people restore and maintain a healthy circadian rhythm in a way that is intuitive?
Design
Jet Reset is a compact, portable ambient light designed to ease the effects of jet lag and seasonal misalignment by restoring your natural rhythm through personalized light exposure. Users simply input their departure and destination locations, and the device automatically generates a tailored light adjustment schedule.
By simulating the natural light cycle—from gentle sunrise tones to warm sunset hues—Jet Reset provides intuitive, non-intrusive cues for when to wake up and wind down. During long, dark winters, it offers a consistent source of ambient light to help combat seasonal sadness and maintain a healthy sleep-wake cycle.
Designed for portability and ease of use, Jet Reset empowers users to reclaim their sense of time, energy, and well-being—wherever life takes them.
